Nancy Grewal, a Punjabi-origin social media influencer in Canada had frequently posted videos criticising Khalistani activities.
A Canada-based social media influencer of Punjabi origin, Nancy Grewal, known for openly expressing her views on social, religious and political issues related to Punjab, was murdered in Windsor, police said. Authorities suspect extremist involvement in the killing.
According to police, the 45-year-old was stabbed to death at her home around 9.30 pm on Tuesday. The police confirmed her death a day later.
Grewal, a social media influencer and YouTuber, had frequently posted videos criticising Khalistani activities. Police have launched an investigation into the murder and are working to identify the suspect.
Police said they received information that an unidentified individual entered Grewal’s residence in Windsor, attacked her with a knife and fled the scene, leaving her critically injured. She was rushed to a hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.

According to local media outlet Windsor Star, police described the murder as an “isolated incident,” without revealing if a suspect is in custody.
