Priyamani calls Maidaan co-star Ajay Devgn fine actor with intense eyes

Priyamani, in an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in spoke about her Maidaan co-star Ajay Devgn. Calling him a fabulous actor, she recalled the experience of working with him in the film.

National award-winning actress Priyamani, who was last seen in Family Man 1 and 2, will be seen next in Ajay Devgn's Maidaan. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, she opened up about working with Ajay Devgn in Maidaan, her character in the film, RRR, their individual equation with director SS Rajamouli, and much more.

Priyamani is working with Ajay Devgn in Maidaan and the actress is impressed with his intensity as an actor. She said that working with the Tanhaji actor has been quite fun. Maidaan is a biographical sports film, directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Zee Studios.

Speaking to IndiaToday.in exclusively, The Family Man actress was all praise for her co-star Ajay Devgn with whom she will be sharing screen space for the very first time.

She said, "Honestly, I shot with Ajay sir for 10 days or 12 days max. I had a lot of fun working with him as I got to learn a lot. He is such a fine and fabulous actor. He speaks so much with his eyes and he has got those intense eyes. He does not need to say anything but he would say everything, it's like that. I had a good time working with him," she said.

Maidaan is based on the golden era of Indian football (1952 - 1962). It will feature Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. Speaking about her character, Priyamani said, "I play his wife in the film. It's all about Syed Abdul Rahim, who was the first football coach of India. In the film, I am Ajay Devgn's pillar of strength. She is the driving force, supporter, and motivator. She pushes him and makes him realise what he is meant to do. It's quite an interesting role. I am looking forward to the release of Maidaan."

Meanwhile, Priyamani also revealed a connection the two actors shared on the sets of Maidaan. She disclosed, "We kept talking about the connection we have with SS Rajamouli sir, because he worked on RRR and I worked with him in Yamadonga. So, we talked a lot about him. I think, at that point in time, I don't think he had started work on RRR but, he was just saying, 'I'm going to be doing RRR'. So, he was asking about what kind of director he was and all that." The actress also confessed that she is looking forward to the release of SS Rajamouli's RRR and added, "I am waiting for RRR to come out, I know it's going to be a fabulous movie."

Apart from Maidaan, Priyamani is working on the new season of The Family Man and will be seen in the upcoming film, Bhamakalapam, that will be released on Telugu OTT platform Aha. She also awaits the release of Virata Parvam with Rana Daggubati.
