Prince Harry and Meghan Markle rejected the title of Earl of Dumbarton for their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor because they feared the word ‘dumb’ in it would lead to bullying.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born on May 6, 2019. However, the great-grandchild of the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth, doesn’t have a Royal title. According to a news report, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex rejected the title Earl of Dumbarton for Archie as it contained the word ‘dumb’ and they feared it could lead to bullying or attract unfortunate nicknames. Speaking about Harry and Meghan's decision with The Telegraph, a source revealed, “They didn’t like the idea of Archie being called the Earl of Dumbarton because it began with the word 'dumb' [and] they were worried about how that might look.” Another person added, “It wasn’t just Meghan who pointed out the potential pitfalls, it also bothered Harry.”More Related News
