Nottingham Forest, on Friday, August 19, confirmed the signing of Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White for the ongoing edition of the Premier League. The 22-year-old, thereby, became the club’s 16th signing this season. The youngster has been signed on a five-year deal.
As per reports, Forest was trying to bring in the Young Turk for the most part of the summer. Forrest will pay Gibbs-White an initial fee of 25 million pounds in addition to 17.5 million pounds in add-ons.
The Stanford-born footballer started in both of Wolves’ first two matches, against Leeds United and Fulham.
Last season, Gibbs-White plied his trade for Sheffield United after joining the team on loan. He also played 10 matches for the England U21 team.
In 135 career appearances thus far, Gibbs-White has scored 16 goals. 12 of those goals came while playing for Sheffield United in the 2021-22 season. In 2020-21, he also honed his skills with Swansea City, where he scored one goal from six appearances.
As far as Forest are concerned, they are currently placed 10th in the points table with three points and a goal difference of -1.
Back on August 6, the Forest faced defeat in their very first match of the championship. They lost to Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
