Preity Zinta shares throwback pic with Shane Warne, says 'RIP my friend'

Preity Zinta has condoled Shane Warne's death on social media. She shared a throwback picture with the Australian cricket legend and wrote an emotional note.

Popular Australian cricketer Shane Warne breathed his last on Friday, March 4, in Thailand. Known as the greatest leg-spinner of all-time, Shane was 52 years old. The devastating news sent shockwaves across the globe. Many Bollywood celebrities also mourned his death. Preity Zinta, who is the co-owner of the Punjab Kings IPL team also mourned Shane's death on social media today, March 5. She shared some memories with him.

Many Bollywood celebrities have condoled Shane Warne's death. Preity Zinta took to her Instagram handle as well and posted a throwback picture with Shane in which they are seen smiling happily while engrossed in a conversation. Sharing the photo, the actress wrote, "So sad to hear that Shane Warne is no more. He was a magician on the field & such a charismatic & flamboyant personality off the field. I learnt so much about cricket from him every time I met him during the IPL & laughed a lot. He was an inspiration to so many all over the world. My heartfelt condolences to his family. R.I.P my friend. You will be missed. #Legend #RIP #Gonetoosoon (sic)."

Shane Warne's management had released a statement about his demise on March 4. It read, “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived.” The statement further added, “The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.” In a career spanning over 15 years from 1992 to 2007, Shane Warne picked up 708 wickets in 145 Test matches. He was also a World Cup winner in 1999 with Australia.
