Vikas Kumar, a constable in Bijnor Police, is going above and beyond his usual duties by teaching underprivileged kids. Unable to afford the textbooks, the young police constable had not been able to complete his education in his childhood.
Now, he has started a campaign wherein he takes in children who want to study but are unable to go to school along with more people like him who would teach these kids.
After his first posting at Bijnor district, Kumar got posted at the Housing Development Police in Kotwali city.
Many poor kids at Kashiram Colony were unable to avail education. Kumar started to teach 30-35 such children initially. He also kept his eyes out for more such kids in nearby villages.
The number of children has steadily increased over time, and now Kumar completes his duty with utmost sincerity before going off to teach the kids.
At present, he is deployed at PRB 112 in Nangal police station, but in off-duty hours, he goes to teach at Bijnor villages such as in Ramji Wala Chhakra, Kishanpur, Sunderpur Behda, Dhola Puri and Mohanpuri village.
As soon as they came to know about this methodology, the police officers showered him with encouragement.
