Poco is set to introduce its new affordable smartphone in India on Monday morning. The Poco M4 Pro will join the recently introduced Poco M4 Pro 5G in the company’s existing portfolio of devices. As the name suggests, it will be a 4G phone and is likely to be more affordable than the Poco M4 Pro 5G. The smartphone maker has been teasing the phone for a while on its social media handles. It has also confirmed that the Poco M4 Pro will be the first M-series phone to feature a 90Hz AMOLED display.
The smartphone will be introduced during an online launch event at 7pm IST. Poco M4 Pro launch livestreaming will be available on Poco India’s YouTube channel. The Poco M4 Pro price will be announced during the launch event. It will be interesting to see where it is positioned in comparison to the 5G variant. To recall, the Poco M4 Pro 5G was introduced in India at Rs 14,999 for the 4GB variant, the 6GB RAM variant costs Rs 16,999 while the 8GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 18,999.
The Poco M4 Pro is likely to use a 6.43-inch AMOLED display. Poco has confirmed that the screen will feature a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and support for the DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. The panel boasts L1 Widevine certification for viewing HD content. The phone should be rated IP53. Poco is likely to introduce it in three colour options - Power Black, Cool Blue and Poco Yellow.
The smartphone is likely to pack a MediaTek Helio G96 4G chipset. The 5G variant of the phone is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC. The phone should have dual stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Poco M4 Pro may come with a 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There can be a 16-megapixel camera on the front for selfies. In all likeness, the Poco M4 Pro will pack a 5000 mAh battery which will support 33W fast charging. It should run Android 11 out of the box.
