
PM National Apprenticeship Mela to be held at over 200 locations across India

The Prime Minister National Apprenticeship Mela is going to be held across 200 locations in India.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will be organising the Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship mela every month from now on with the objective of connecting youth to more opportunities for on-ground training within corporates while furthering employment opportunities. The mela will be held at more than 200 locations in India on June 13, 2022, from 9 am to 5 pm, as per a statement by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship informed in a statement.
Over 1000 companies from more than 36 sectors will participate in the apprenticeship mela.
Candidates who possess a pass certificate for Class 5 and Class 12, a skill training certificate, ITI Diploma, or a graduate degree will be able to apply for an interview in trades or opportunities.
Candidates will be able to choose from over 500 different trades, including welders, electricians, housekeepers, beauticians, and mechanics, among others.
The primary objective of the PM National Apprenticeship Mela is to encourage the hiring of apprentices from these cities.
Additionally, it also has the objective of aiding employers in identifying and developing their potential via training and practical skillsets that provide value to their workplace.
At the end of a candidate’s training period, they will be awarded an Apprenticeship certificate that is acknowledged by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), providing them with industry recognition.
