‘Publish details on websites before finalising Class 10 results for transparency’
A plea in the Delhi High Court on Monday sought direction to the CBSE-affiliated schools here to publish on their websites the rationale document of assessment criteria for Class 10 students before finalising results for greater transparency. The Vacation Bench of Justices C. Hari Shankar and Subramonium Prasad said the matter be listed before another Bench not comprising Justice Shankar. It listed the matter for hearing before another Bench on June 30. The application for the interim relief was filed in a pending petition in which the petitioner NGO, Justice For All, has sought to modify CBSE policy for tabulation of marks of Class 10 Board Exams 2021 based on internal assessment conducted by the schools. The election authorities are gearing up for the counting of votes cast in the simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh, scheduled to be held on June 4. The Collectors and Election Officers of Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli and Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) districts said on May 23 (Thursday) that their teams were ready for the counting of votes.
Responding to the prolonged water scarcity, the residents of the area took to the streets in protest on Wednesday. The protest, which drew attention to their plight, stopped only after the intervention of the police. It was not until 1.30 p.m. that a 4000-litre tanker was finally delivered by BWSSB, providing relief to the water-starved residents.
