United Democratic Front's candidate list for the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections, aiming for a significant political comeback.
With just a few weeks left for the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections, political parties across the State are gearing up for the single phase of polling to be held across all 140 Assembly constituencies on April 9, 2026. The counting of votes is scheduled for May 4, 2026.
The United Democratic Front or UDF is aiming to stage a return to office and consolidate its base, having released its list of candidates for the upcoming Kerala Assembly election.
The UDF is led by the Indian National Congress (INC) and includes the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), Kerala Congress (Joseph), Kerala Congress (Jacob) and the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP).
The CPI(M)-led ruling Left Democratic Front or LDF and the BJP-led NDA are the other two contenders.
Prominent UDF candidates contesting in the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections include Congress leader V.D. Satheesan from Paravur, IUML’s A.K.M. Ashraf from Manjeshwaram, Congress nominee Ramesh Pisharody from Palakkad, UDF-backed Independent candidate G. Sudhakaran, and Congress’s Ramesh Chennithala from Haripad.
