Part of Aruppukottai West Bypass road opened for public use
Revenue Minister K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, on Friday, inaugurated the newly-laid portion of Aruppukkottai West Bypass Road that would directly connect Virudhunagar with Tiruchuli Road and Madurai-Thoothukudi highway without the vehicles having to go through the congested roads of Aruppukottai town.
The 9.1-km-long road has been constructed at a cost of ₹154.99 crore under the Integrated Road Infrastructure Development Programme (IRIDP) 2022–2023.
The Minister threw the road for public usage in presence District Collector N.O. Sukhaputra.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ramachandran said that Chief Minister has been implementing various projects to improve and expand road infrastructure to ensure road safety.
The bypass road was a long-pending demand of the people of Aruppukottai town due to traffic congestion on the arterial roads during peak hour traffic that caused inconvenience to the students and office-goers.
“We had promised to address this issue during the Assembly election, and now a part of the Aruppukottai West By-pass has been opened for public use,” he said.
