Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film titled “Parasakthi”, directed by Sudha Kongara, co-starring Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa and Sreeleela
We had previously announced that Amaranstar Sivakarthikeyan, along with star actors Ravi Mohan and Atharvaa, is teaming up with filmmaker Sudha Kongara for his next. On Wednesday (January 29), the makers announced that the film is now titled Parasakthi.
Dawn Pictures, the banner backing the film, unveiled a new title reveal teaser to announce the news.
In the teaser, we see a period story unfold, featuring Sivakarthikeyan as a mysterious leader who is unifying the students of Pachaiyappa’s College to form an army. Atharvaa appears as a student, while female lead Sreeleela appears to be Atharvaa’s romantic interest. Ravi, on the other hand, makes his menacing presence felt, as an antagonist vying to gun down Sivakarthikeyan’s character.
Notably, the title ‘Parasakthi’ holds a special place in Tamil cinema. 1952’s Parasakthi, directed by Krishnan–Panju and written by M Karunanidhi, marked the acting debut of the late legendary Sivaji Ganesan. The film, thanks to its famous court scene in particular, is revered as a masterpiece in Tamil cinema.
The teaser of the new Parasakthi promises a revolutionary tale set in the world of student politics. Sudha has also written the screenplay with Arjun Nadesan.
With cinematography by Ravi K Chandran and editing by Sathish Surya, the film will have music scored by GV Prakash Kumar. Notably, this is Prakash’s 100th film as a composer. Aakash Baaskaran produces the film under his Dawn Pictures banner.

In a surprising turn of events, Urvashi theatre, one of Bengaluru’s iconic single screens, has re-opened, with the much-talked-about Dhurandhar: The Revenge running to a full house in the theatre. After the expiry of the 45-year lease, it seemed like curtains would come down on the king-size theatre but for now, it’s good news for fans.
