Paramakudi Bar Association inaugurates new library, High Court Judge emphasizes updating knowledge, digitizing books, and honoring contributors in ceremony.
A new library was inaugurated at Paramakudi Bar Association in the heritage building by High Court Judge C. Saravanan in Paramakudi on Friday.
In his address, the Judge said that advocates should utilise the library and update their knowledge. The journals have voluminous information on the latest rulings. By reading them regularly, the members of the Bar can update their knowledge, he said.
He suggested to the Bar Association office-bearers to form a committee to digitise the books in the library. By doing so, the old books could be preserved for posterity, he said.
Portrait of former Attorney General K. Parasaran was unveiled by High Court Judge M. Nirmal Kumar on the occasion. The speakers hailed senior advocate Satish Parasaran for his contribution of the law books to the library, computers and accessories.
Ramanathapuram Principal District Judge Mehboob Ali Khan, Additional District Judge Shanti and Mr Satish Parasaran offered felicitations. Earlier, Bar Association president Boominathan welcomed the gathering. Secretary Yuvaraja proposed the vote of thanks.

Bangladesh is witnessing renewed political tension after the killing of Sharif Osman Hadi, a young leader who emerged during the July–August 2024 uprising that led to the removal of Sheikh Hasina. Hadi later headed the radical group Inquilab Mancha and was campaigning ahead of the 2026 parliamentary election when he was shot in Dhaka. His death has triggered protests, diplomatic friction with India, and concerns over rising political violence as Bangladesh heads towards elections under an interim government.
