OPS appoints a political advisor to AIADMK, EPS removes him for anti-party activities

O Panneerselvam (OPS), who was ousted from the AIADMK post after a general council meet, appointed a political advisor in a fresh challenge to Palaniswami (EPS). However, EPS, the interim general secretary of the party, removed Panruti Ramachandran, who was chosen for the advisory role, for 'anti-party' activities.
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader O Panneerselvam (OPS) appointed a political advisor to the party as the party coordinator on Tuesday. Hours later, AIADMK leader Panruti S Ramachandran was removed from the advisory role and was expelled from the party for ''anti-party" activities by Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS), the interim general secretary of the party.
EPS is the top leader of the party after the Madras High Court allowed his appeal, setting aside an order in favour of OPS on party's leadership dispute.
The court had nullified the July 11 General Council (GC) meeting of the AIADMK. In that meeting, the leader of Opposition EPS was elected as the interim general secretary of the party, the top post which remained vacant since Jayalalithaa's demise. Panneerselvam was ousted from the party for anti-party activities and an attack on party headquarters in Chennai.
But on Tuesday morning, Panneerselvam signed a letter as party coordinator and appointed veteran AIADMK leader Panruti S Ramachandran as political advisor to the party.
In quick response, EPS issued a statement stating that Panruti Ramachandran was removed from the primary membership of the party.
"For acting against the policy objectives and principles of the party, by acting contrary to the legal plans of the party and disrupting the regulations of the party, Panruti Ramachandran is hereby removed from the primary membership of the party," the statement read.
The battle for AIADMK last saw the two-judge bench of the Madras High Court giving a verdict in favour of Palaniswami and reinstating his claim of being the interim general secretary of the party. Meanwhile, O Paneerselvam had said on the day of the verdict that they would approach the Supreme Court against the verdict of the two-judge bench.
