OnePlus 10R with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 is reportedly set to launch in India and China in Q2 2022.
OnePlus recently launched their latest flagship, the OnePlus 10 series, comprising two new smartphones, the OnePlus 10 and the OnePlus 10 Pro. Now the news reports suggest that the company is working on a Lite version of the same, expected to be called the OnePlus 10R.
The OnePlus 10R is expected to be powered by the all-new Mediatek flagship Dimensity 9000 SoC. Specifications and early benchmark tests indicate the Dimensity 9000 could be as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powering the OnePlus 10 Pro. OnePlus 10R could be the cheaper version of the OnePlus 10 Pro company enthusiasts may be waiting.
The OnePlus 10R, according to reports, will be a successor to the OnePlus 9RT and will be released in the second quarter of 2022. The OnePlus 10R launch forecast for the second half falls well after the launch of the 9R, which took place in March 2021.
It might be worth mentioning that it is very likely that the OnePlus 10R will once again be exclusive to India and China, since the OnePlus 9R and 9RT were also not taken to the international market.
According to a report by Android Central, the OnePlus 10R will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC paired with a minimum of 8GB of RAM along with at least 128GB of onboard storage. With the OnePlus 10R, OnePlus will target the Asian markets which do not rely upon mmWave connectivity to offer 5G services.
The new MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G processor is equipped with a high-performance Cortex-X2 3.05GHz core for dealing with extremely heavy tasks. It is speculated that the OnePlus 10R will arrive with an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The smartphone will run on the Android 12 operating system with the OxygenOS 12 or ColorOS 12 depending on the region.
