Nuh Kisan Mahapanchayat: SKM sounds call to ‘choke Delhi’ from south Haryana

At the Kisan Mahapanchayat organised by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha in Haryana's Nuh, farmer leaders appealed to farmers to stay prepared to "choke Delhi" from yet another direction.
It's roughly 11 in the morning. A tau -- with a white turban and beard -- was sitting on a chaarpai kept on the periphery of the Anaj Mandi (grain market) in Haryana's Nuh. On our right was the stage, where the top leadership of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) was gearing up to address the Kisan Mahapanchayat. "I have come from a nearby village in Nuh. They have not done proper campaigning yet. Many in our villages are not even aware that a Kisan Mahapanchayat is being organised in the Anaj Mandi," the septuagenarian told India Today while explaining the possible reason for the dismal headcount at the spot where the Kisan Mahapanchayat was to begin in an hour or two.
Two years ago, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina warned of an alleged plot by a 'white man' to establish a Christian state. In 2025, the Mizoram CM said Ukraine war veterans were using the state to enter Myanmar. The arrest of 7 foreign nationals by the NIA has prompted experts to suggest that the incidents might be connected.

Pradyut Bordoloi was a dyed-in-the-wool Congressi who vowed to never leave the party. The physical attack on him in 2025, and the Congress embracing "communal elements" pushed the Lok Sabha MP into joining the BJP. Bordoloi's exit from the Congress after three decades is significant for the party and Assam's politics.
