The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has partnered with upskilling platform Mythiksha to help in its mission to upskill and place 1 crore people in rural cities of India.
National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), a strategic implementation and knowledge partner in the Skill India Mission, and upskilling platform Mythiksha have officially joined hands to help Mythiksha expand its reach in rural cities and promote employment opportunities for rural youth.
With NSDC, Mythiksha expects to reach over 1 lakh students over the next 12 months. At present, Mythiksha follows a ’Learn Now Pay Later’ model, where candidates enroll with an admission fee and clear the course fee in easy installments after they receive a job.
With NSDC, students will also have the option to acquire loans via their partnered NBFCs. The organization also helps add credibility to Mythiksha’s approach to partnering with colleges across the nation.
“There is a visible gap when it comes to awareness around pursuing career paths among the rural youth. Affordability is also a commonly discussed factor that discourages several students from pursuing a quality education,” said Utkarsh Apoorva, Founder and CEO of Mythiksha.
“Growing up, I have witnessed how several aspirations have gone unfulfilled in this process. By partnering with NSDC, we hope to take Mythiksha and our goals further, with the aim of helping improve skilling and career opportunities in our society,” he said.
"We appreciate the uniqueness of Mythiksha's model which is targeting high quality upskilling at scale in rural India,” said Ved Mani Tiwari, COO and Officiating CEO, NSDC.
“While Mythiksha is a young company/start-up, but we saw great potential in the team and their implementation plan. The mission of upskilling 1 crore young people in five years is an ambitious goal, and we are excited to support them in this endeavour,” he added.
