Nothing's co-founder Carl Pei announced the event date via his official Twitter handle while saying that “the truth” about the upcoming launches will soon be revealed.
Nothing will officially host an event on March 23, where it is expected to reveal the product roadmap for 2022, as suggested by the latest teaser. The company’s co-founder Carl Pei announced the event date via his official Twitter handle while saying that “the truth” about the upcoming launches will soon be revealed.
“There has been a lot of speculation, and it’s finally time to tell you the truth about what we’re building at Nothing, at our upcoming event on March 23,” Pei said on Twitter. The announcement comes just days after an image of Pei surfaced online, where he is seen showing off the prototype of the upcoming Nothing phone to Qualcomm’s CEO Cristiano Amon.
While Pie hasn’t yet detailed what all categories the company will be targeting, but has confirmed that it has partnered with Qualcomm and will be using its Snapdragon platform for its products. This suggests that a Snapdragon-powered Android smartphone could soon be unveiled.
So far, all the rumours and leaks also hint that we will soon witness the launch of a Nothing smartphone. Just last week, TechCrunch reported that Nothing is planning to launch its first phone in April this year, according to sources that are familiar with the matter.
At the moment, not much is known about the features of the device, apart from the fact that it could pack a Snapdragon chip. The cited source did mention that the device could have transparent elements, similar to the company’s first Ear (1) wireless earbuds. The leaked image of the device suggested that it could offer a slim profile and will be available in black colour.
Currently, Nothing only has one product in its kitty and that is the TWS wireless earphones. In an interview with India Today Tech, Manu Sharma, the VP of Nothing India, revealed that the brand is gearing up to launch as many as five products. While he didn’t explicitly mention the product categories, the rumour mill suggested that we could also see the launch of a Nothing power bank and a new set of earphones during the year.
"For our way forward, our mission is to build for the future. We are speeding up very rapidly in terms of building a pipeline of products, we already have five products in development that we are speeding up to meet our mission of launching iconic products and we are excited about that," Sharma told India Today Tech.
