Not ashamed of being called cow dung, says Rajya Sabha MP Suresh Gopi

Rajya Sabha MP Suresh Gopi was addressing the media after inaugurating the Gau Samrakshana Rath Yatra organised by VHP in Ernakulam, Kerala.

Malayalam actor and Rajya Sabha MP Suresh Gopi said he was not "ashamed of being called cow dung". Suresh Gopi made the remark after inaugurating the Gau Samrakshana Rath Yatra (Cow protection campaign) organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad at Pavakkulam temple in Ernakulam.Some social media groups have called the actor "cow dung" for his association with the Sangh Parivar.Addressing a media briefing, Suresh Gopi said, "I am not ashamed of being called cow dung and I am so proud to hear that.""No one should stop calling us 'cow dung' and it should continue. One should not forget that the great renaissance hero Sree Narayana Guru was first touched by cow dung at his birth," Suresh Gopi said.ALSO READ: Arun Kumar, gen-next RSS man for liaison between Sangh and BJP The Gau Samrakshana Yatra, which will tour various parts of the state for a year, aims at protecting and increasing the number of cows in Kerala. The campaign will end next year at the Pavakkulam Temple.Suresh Gopi said the protection of cows would be a driving force in reclaiming agriculture and eating clean food, practised by the forefathers.Film director and Vishwa Hindu Parishad state president Viji Thampi was also present at the function.Replying to a fan who asked him to intervene in the arrest of the famous Malayalam vloggers E Bull Jet brothers, who were held by the Motor Vehicles Department, Gopi said it was under Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the transport minister.ALSO READ: War against Hindus: BJP Karnataka leader on Kerala Tourism's beef tweet
