Anakapalli
The annual religious festival of Goddess Nookambika here will begin as a State festival on March 28. The festival will begin with a Jatara on March 28, Kotta Amavasya on March 29 and Ugadi on March 30. It will be held for 30 days ending on April 27.
The temple authorities have decorated the Balalayam. As the government is keen to celebrate the festival as a State festival, Anakapalli Collector Vijaya Krishnan has instructed the temple authorities to make all arrangements.
On the other hand, the temple authorities are investing ₹10 crore and accelerating the temple modernisation work to inaugurate it by Dasara.

Selected from 9,400 submissions across 37 countries, the 100 photographs on display traverse intimate and political terrains. In MRC Nagar, photographer Swastik Pal captures life in the Sundarbans, where severe climate change has brought humans and wildlife into closer contact. Shane Hynan’s Beneath Beofhod reflects on Ireland’s boglands as sites of memory and restoration, while Mateo Trevisan’s More than the Sun examines the impact of coal-driven industrialisation in the Western Balkans.
