No vaccine, no alcohol: ADM mandates jabs for purchase of liquor in UP's Saifai

The ADM of Etawah has warned liquor outlets in Uttar Pradesh's Saifai against entertaining customers who are unable to produce a Covid-19 vaccination certificate.

No liquor without vaccine certificate, read notices displayed outside liquor outlets in Saifai in Uttar Pradesh's Etawah district. The notices were put up at the direction of Etawah Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Hem Kumar Singh. ADM Singh, along with district police officials, inspected liquor outlets in Saifai in light of the Aligarh hooch tragedy. At least 25 people died in Aligarh after consuming spurious liquor earlier this month. During the inspection, ADM Hem Kumar Singh directed liquor outlets to display notices clearly stating that alcohol will not be sold to anyone who is yet to be vaccinated against Covid-19. Owners of said liquor outlets were also warned against selling liquor to customers without verifying their vaccination certificates.
