The Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday released new sets of guidelines, disallowing all kinds of religious procession during Muharram, in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday released new sets of guidelines, disallowing all kinds of religious procession during Muharram, in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. The 10-day festival is set to begin on August 10. The UP Directorate General of Police (DGP) ordered that Muharram in the state should be celebrated by adhering to Covid appropriate behaviours and by keeping in the mind the restrictions that are in place to tackle the pandemic.
