No race for CM’s chair, Siddaramaiah to continue: Mahadevappa

H.C. Mahadevappa denies race for Chief Minister post, criticizes BJP's behavior, while Tanveer Sait calls for party clarity.

Amidst speculations of Congress replacing Siddaramaiah as the Chief Minister, the district in charge Minister H.C. Mahadevappa said that there was no race for the post.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday Mr. Mahadevappa said that Mr. Siddaramaiah’s position as Chief Minister was strong and he will continue to remain in that post even as Congress will continue to be in power for five years and win again in 2028.

‘’There is no question of any aspirants for the Chief Minister’s post at present as there is no race. We will win the 2028 elections as well and then we can talk about any race. But as of now the question does not arise,” he added.

He flayed BJP for what he termed as their failure to conduct themselves as a responsible opposition party. There are serious issues but they are bereft of any other issues and were fomenting tension and communalism, Mr. Mahadevappa added.

Meanwhile, Tanveer Sait, KPCC working president and Narasimharaja MLA, said there was confusion in the party over sharing of power and the elections to the post of KPCC president and the high command should resolve it. In reply to a question Mr. Sait said he was not an aspirant for the post of KPCC president.
