No protection for women and children in Tamil Nadu, says Nainar Nagenthran
As many as 38 children have been sexually assaulted and murdered in the last five years under the DMK regime, charged BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran.
Addressing a protest organised by National Democratic Alliance here on Tuesday, Mr. Nagenthran said that women and children were not safe under the DMK government.
As many as 1,977 women and 361 children were murdered in the last five years. Among them, 38 children were sexually assaulted before being murdered, he alleged.
Mr. Nagenthran pointed out to the recent murder of a Plus Two girl in Thoothukudi district. Stating that there was no protection to women and children, he said they feared to step out from their houses.
The Tirunelveli MLA accused that the police could not function efficiently under the DMK regime. The DMK government had converted the uniformed personnel as their hitmen, he said.
Charging that all these crimes were caused by ganja, the BJP leader charged that youths were now used to synthetic drugs which were earlier known only in the western countries.
