The Maharashtra government on Wednesday issued guidelines for the Mahashivratri festival celebrations stating that all religious festivals are being celebrated simply this year in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines. It further said that the prevalence of corona has not yet decreased and the number of patients in the state as well as in big cities are on the rise again. Therefore, considering the situation, it is necessary to celebrate Mahashivratri on Thursday in a very simple manner this year. As per the guidelines, the devotees have been asked to perform puja at home and also asked the temple managers to facilitate online darshan. Further, not more than 50 people will be allowed at a time inside the Shiva temples.
