The Niti Aayog has given a go-ahead for a study on facial recognition which would focus on the pros and cons of technology in India.

The Niti Aayog has given the go-ahead for a study on facial recognition in India. The study will focus on the pros and cons of facial recognition and will be carried out by an independent not-for-profit Delhi-based legal think tank, Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy.

The research proposal will look into the ramifications and safeguards that need to be ensured, legal positions and technical errors that could possibly arise in the near future.
