Nikhil Siddharth's Karthikeya 2 to get a sequel? Here’s what we know

The team has an idea in mind for a sequel to Nikhil Siddharth’s Karthikeya 2. The makers are likely to begin work on it pretty soon.

Nikhil Siddharth and the team are celebrating the success of their super hit action-adventure film Karthikeya 2. The film, which was released on 13 August, has been doing wonders at the box-office, especially in Hindi. In just 11 days, the film has collected nearly Rs 17 crore in Hindi. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Karthikeya 2 also features Anupama Parameswaran and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.IS KARTHIKEYA 3 ON THE CARDS?Now IndiaToday.in has exclusively learned that the makers are in talks for Kartikeya 3. Speaking about the sequel, a source close to the project said: "Yes there is a plan to make Kartikeya 3. We are working on the script currently. We have a basic idea in mind which need some work now. The team is expected to start working on the project soon. Right now they are just overwhelmed with all the positive responses they have been getting for Kartikeya 2. Since the pressure and expectation for the movie have increased, the makers want to make sure to live up to that."

KARTHIKEYA 2 WORKS ITS MAGIC

Meanwhile, on its opening day, Karthikeya 2 grossed Rs 8.50 crore worldwide. The film collected more than Rs 25 crores at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend. Kartikeya 2 serves as a sequel to the 2014 film Karthikeya which was a critical and commercial success and earned Rs 68 crore at the box office.
