NHRC issues notices to Centre, Nagaland govt over civilians’ death; seeks report within 6 weeks 

The NHRC took suo-motu cognizance of reports on the killing of civilians in firing by security forces in Nagaland and issued notices to the Centre and the state government, seeking report on the incident.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Monday issued notices to the Centre and the Nagaland Government over the firing incident by the security forces that claimed the lives on several civilians.

The Commission has issued notices to the Union Defence Secretary, Union Home Secretary, Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, Nagaland calling for a detailed report on the matter within six weeks.
