Discovery of species, named Xylophaga nandani, by team of researchers from Kerala and Brazil
A team of researchers from Kerala and Brazil have identified a new species of a rare, deep-sea mollusc belonging to the family Xylophagaidae from the eastern Arabian Sea.
The wood-boring, tiny mollusc species has been named Xylophaga nandani after Prof. Bijoy Nandan, dean, faculty of Marine Sciences, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).

The highlight of every edition of the Whitefield Art Collective is the Kala Car, an exhibit that showcases the creative and artistic prowess of art students. Over the years, this clever play on words has titled vehicles that have either been rescued from the scrap yard or sponsored or auctioned or all of the above.
