
NEET PG counselling strike: Chandigarh GHMC suspends walk-in OPDs, elective surgeries

The Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Chandigarh has suspended walk-in OPDs and elective surgeries after the senior doctors joined the ongoing strike after delay in NEET PG counselling.
After senior doctors joined the junior residents' indefinite strike over the delay in NEET PG counselling, the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh has suspended walk-in OPDs and elective surgeries from Thursday till further notice. The resident doctors have decided to continue their strike against a delay in the NEET-PG counselling.
The junior resident doctors are on an indefinite strike from December 6 as part of the nationwide strike demanding early NEET PG counselling.

As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
