Nearly 30 rounds were fired at Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala this evening, Punjab top cop VK Bhawra said, adding that the bullets were fired from at least three different weapons.
According to the Director General of Police (DGP), the singer had left his home around 4:30 pm and was shot at, an hour later. Rubbishing allegations that the removal of his security cover opened him up as a target for the shooting, the DGP said that four Punjab police officers were with him. However, two were pulled out after Sidhu told them to stay back.
He also did not travel in his bulletproof car, leading to the unfortunate incident, the police said.
