Navjot Sidhu: The story of an eternal rebel from cricket to Congress
India Today
Amarinder Singh had first-hand experience of Navjot Sidhu’s rebellious nature. Sidhu’s tale of rebellion begins with the Indian cricket team.
Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation was an 'I told you so' moment for former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. In a post on Twitter, Amarinder Singh described Sidhu as “not a stable man” before reminding how Sidhu showed his “shifty character” when he “deserted the Indian team in 1996 in England”.
Amarinder Singh said, “I have known this boy [Sidhu] since his childhood. He has been a loner and can never be a team playerThat is what his real character is.”

Two years ago, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina warned of an alleged plot by a 'white man' to establish a Christian state. In 2025, the Mizoram CM said Ukraine war veterans were using the state to enter Myanmar. The arrest of 7 foreign nationals by the NIA has prompted experts to suggest that the incidents might be connected.

Pradyut Bordoloi was a dyed-in-the-wool Congressi who vowed to never leave the party. The physical attack on him in 2025, and the Congress embracing "communal elements" pushed the Lok Sabha MP into joining the BJP. Bordoloi's exit from the Congress after three decades is significant for the party and Assam's politics.
