Nato has called the Nord Stream pipeline leaks in the Baltic Sea as deliberate, reckless, and irresponsible acts of sabotage.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation or Nato has called the Nord Stream pipeline leaks in the Baltic sea deliberate acts of sabotage. Leaks in two gas pipelines -- Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 -- off Nato member Denmark and would-be member Sweden in international waters in the Baltic Sea have raised concerns amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
"All currently available information indicates that this is the result of deliberate, reckless, and irresponsible acts of sabotage," Nato said in a statement on Thursday.
These leaks are causing risks to shipping and substantial environmental damage, it added.

On Thursday, a fourth gas leak was discovered by Sweden's coast guard in the damaged Nord Stream pipeline, fuelling the 'sabotage' speculation.
The leaks came even as the Nord Stream 1 pipeline has not been operational since August when Russia closed it down for 'maintenance'. The Nord Stream 2 pipeline, though completed, never became operational since the war broke out in Ukraine. European nations see it as the next step of Russia's aggression in Ukraine.
