Nagarjuna breaks silence on son Naga Chaitanya's Laal Singh Chaddha box office failure

Nagarjuna has opened up about Laal Singh Chaddha's box office failure. The film featured his son Naga Chaitanya.

Nagarjuna is currently riding high on the success of his film, Brahmastra. The actor played the role of an artist, Anish AKA Nandi Astra, in the Ayan Mukerji directorial. While his movie has worked wonders at BO, his son Naga Chaitanya's film, Laal Singh Chaddha, performed poorly at the ticket window. In a recent interview, Nagarjuna opened up about Brahmastra's success and Laal Singh Chaddha's failure.

In an interview with PTI, Nagarjuna said he wished Laal Singh Chaddha had worked well at the box office. "It is a bittersweet moment. I wish it [Laal Singh Chaddha] had worked good. But it happens, it is an experience. When Chai told me he was doing this Forrest Gump remake, I told him don't expect to be recognised as a star. This will show you as an actor. And Chai said, 'I want to be known as an actor also'," he said.

For the unaware, Naga Chaitanya played the role of Balaraju aka Bala, Aamir Khan's best friend in the film. Aamir played the titular role in Laal Singh Chaddha, whereas Mona Singh played his mother. On the other hand, Kareena Kapoor was seen as Aamir's love interest in the movie.

Laal Singh Chaddha was directed by Advait Chandan. The film failed to work wonders at the box office and opened to a mixed response from the audience. LSC was the official Indian adaptation of Tom Hanks' Hollywood movie, Forrest Gump.
