The Nagaland Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a resolution demanding the repeal of AFSPA.
The Nagaland Legislative Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a resolution demanding the centre to repeal the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, 1958 (AFSPA) from the North East specifically from Nagaland. This is to strengthen the ongoing efforts to find a peaceful political settlement to the Naga political issue.
One day special session of the Nagaland Assembly was called following widespread protests and demands by various organisations, tribal groups, students’ bodies to repeal the AFSPA.

Two years ago, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina warned of an alleged plot by a 'white man' to establish a Christian state. In 2025, the Mizoram CM said Ukraine war veterans were using the state to enter Myanmar. The arrest of 7 foreign nationals by the NIA has prompted experts to suggest that the incidents might be connected.

Pradyut Bordoloi was a dyed-in-the-wool Congressi who vowed to never leave the party.
