MWC 2022: Realme launches Realme Book Prime laptop, Buds Air 3 but Indian buyers will have to wait

Realme has launched its second laptop outside of China and named it Realme Book Prime. It has also launched the new Buds Air 3 earbuds that support Dolby Audio.

Realme finally launched the Realme Book Prime laptop and the Buds Air 3 truly wireless earbuds for the international markets at the ongoing Mobile World Congress, MWC 2022. The Realme Book Prime is a rebranded Realme Book Enhanced Edition, which was launched in China earlier this year. The Buds Air 3, on the other hand, is a new product that comes as a successor to the Realme Buds Air 2.

The new Realme laptop and TWS earbuds look exciting and are jam-packed with good features, but if you are waiting to buy either in India, you will have to wait. Realme has launched the Book Prime and Buds Air 3 in Europe for now, but it has confirmed that it will soon bring them to India. If we go by rumours, the Realme Book Prime may arrive in India by April while the Buds Air 3 may see a March launch in India.

The Realme Book Prime starts at EUR 999, roughly Rs 85,000. At this premium price, the laptop brings some notable features that business users will most appreciate. There is a 2K Full Vision Display on the laptop with an aspect ratio of 3:2. In simple terms, the display of the Realme Book Prime is taller than those on regular laptops, and this is useful when you have to edit documents and presentations specifically. The laptop uses an 11th-generation Intel Core i5-11320H processor paired with Intel Iris X Graphics. There is up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD space on the laptop.

With a thickness of 14.9mm, the Realme Book Prime is one of the slimmest laptops right now. Its reduced weight makes it ultra-portable, as well. The Realme Book Prime comes with an aluminium chassis, which gives it a premium look. But despite a thin body, the Realme Book Prime is equipped with a dual-fan VC liquid cooling system that will help the CPU maintain the temperature during high workloads. The Realme Book Prime runs Windows 11 out-of-the-box. You also get a backlit keyboard on the laptop, while the stereo speakers on it are tuned by DTS. Realme claims that this laptop can offer 12 hours of battery life, but as it is with Windows PCs, the actual battery life is always a bit less than claimed. The Realme Book Prime has a Thunderbolt 4 port, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and support for PC Connect.

Realme has priced the Buds Air 3 at EUR 59.99, which is roughly Rs 5,100. The Realme Buds Air 3 is the successor to the Buds Air 2, but it hardly looks any different from the latter. The Realme Buds Air 3 comes with improved sound quality, thanks to a 10mm dynamic bass boost driver inside the earbuds. There is support for Dolby Audio for the first time on Realme earbuds. Dolby Audio streaming was popularised by Apple Music and there are only a few earbuds, including Apple AirPods, that support that quality. However, it is not clear whether or not Buds Air 3 will support Apple Music’s Dolby Audio quality.

The new Realme earbuds support active noise-cancellation aided by dual mics for up to 42dB, which is good theoretically. In other words, the earbuds should be able to cancel out the sound of a fan in a room, the noise coming from outside of your house, and the voices of people talking nearby. Realme has claimed that the Buds Air 3 also comes with anti-wind technology that will subdue the noise created by strong winds. The earbuds offer a playback time of 30 hours on a single charge. The earbuds are also water- and dust-resistant, so you can wear them while working out.
