Only a day after long queues of vehicles were seen on the routes from Mumbai to Thane and Powai to Thane on the Eastern Express Highway, traffic movement is expected to be slow on various Mumbai routes today as well due to a planned VIP movement.

Mumbai Traffic Police took to Twitter and wrote, "Due to a planned VIP movement between 11 AM and 3 PM tomorrow, May 17, 2022, traffic will be slow around Santacruz Airport, University, Amar Mahal, Chheda Nagar, Freeway and Yellow Gate. Citizens are requested to plan their commute accordingly." (sic)

Commuters have been facing massive traffic jams on Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) and Eastern Express Highway as the JVLR flyover has been shut due to repair work since Friday night. However, the issue will persist till May 24, following which the flyover will be thrown open to motorists again, according to Mumbai Traffic Police.

Mumbai Traffic wrote, "JVLR Shut For Repair | Due to ongoing repair work at Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road, Mumbaikars are requested to avoid the route till May 24, 2022. The work is going on at full speed, and we hope for cooperation from citizens.” (sic)
