Mumbai rains: BMC appeals to residents living near drain to evacuate

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has appealed to residents staying near nullah to evacuate to safer places. 

Following IMD's heavy rain advisory in Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday appealed to residents staying near nullah to evacuate to safer places. According to BMC, there is a possibility of flooding due to heavy rains during the monsoon season this year. Some residents are staying near hills and rainwater can lead to flooding in these areas. Most of these settlements are on encroached land and settlers have been asked to evacuate on their own.
