Mumbai girl receives death threat after post supporting Udaipur killing

A teenage girl in South Mumbai received death threats from an unidentified man after she shared a post on Facebook supporting the Udaipur killing incident.
A 16-year-old girl from the South Mumbai area was issued a death threat on WhatsApp after she shared a Facebook post supporting the Udaipur beheading incident. Kanhaiya Lal was hacked to death inside his shop in Udaipur on June 28.
The girl’s parents approached the VP Road Police Station and registered a complaint against unidentified person(s) under sections 509 (insulting modesty of a woman) and 506(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The girl’s phone was with her mother at the time when the threat was made to her. "The incident took place on July 1 and her mother, who received the phone call, was shocked to hear the accused use foul language and issue threats. He said he will beat up the girl if the post is not deleted. The message was later sent on WhatsApp as well,” said a Mumbai police official.
The police said they have formed two teams to nab those involved in the case.
Kanhaiya Lal was murdered by two men who chopped his head off and later recorded a video admitting to killing the man over a social media post in support of Nupur Sharma.
