
Mumbai first South Asian city to work on climate action plan: BMC Commissioner

BMC officials say they are in tune with what climate experts have to say about the near future and the devastation that could be witnessed in Mumbai if corrective measures aren’t put in place.
Iqbal Singh Chahal, Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said on Sunday that Mumbai is the first city in South Asia to launch the Mumbai Climate Action Plan, which is rolling in now. The plan was launched by state environment minister Aaditya Thackeray at the BMC headquarters on Friday.
Two years ago, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina warned of an alleged plot by a 'white man' to establish a Christian state. In 2025, the Mizoram CM said Ukraine war veterans were using the state to enter Myanmar. The arrest of 7 foreign nationals by the NIA has prompted experts to suggest that the incidents might be connected.
