A Mumbai court on Wednesday rejected the house arrest plea of Sachin Vaze and sent him back to jail. Sachin Vaze was arrested by the NIA in connection with the Antilia bomb-scare and businessman Mansukh Hiran death cases by NIA.
A special court in Mumbai has refused to grant house custody under the National Investigation Agency Act to dismissed Mumbai cop Sachin Vaze. Vaze was arrested in the Antilia bomb scare and businessman Mansukh Hiran's death case by the NIA.
The special judge, A T Wankhede, passed this order after hearing arguments from both sides. Vaze underwent heart bypass recently. The court stated Vaze should be kept in a jail hospital for a month and home food will be allowed for him. "If needed, he could be shifted to JJ hospital. Vaze will be shifted to jail immediately from Mumbai hospital," said the judge.

Two years ago, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina warned of an alleged plot by a 'white man' to establish a Christian state. In 2025, the Mizoram CM said Ukraine war veterans were using the state to enter Myanmar. The arrest of 7 foreign nationals by the NIA has prompted experts to suggest that the incidents might be connected.

Pradyut Bordoloi was a dyed-in-the-wool Congressi who vowed to never leave the party. The physical attack on him in 2025, and the Congress embracing "communal elements" pushed the Lok Sabha MP into joining the BJP. Bordoloi's exit from the Congress after three decades is significant for the party and Assam's politics.
