IPL 2026: MS Dhoni arrived in Chennai on Saturday to join Chennai Super Kings' pre-season camp. Unlike last year, there was no message on the former captain's T-shirt upon his arrival. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad also landed in the city later in the evening.
Legendary MS Dhoni arrived in Chennai on Saturday, February 28, to join Chennai Super Kings’ pre-season training camp ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The former captain received a roaring welcome, with several fans gathering at the airport to catch a glimpse of the iconic cricketer.
Unlike last year, Dhoni did not arrive in Chennai wearing a T-shirt carrying a message. The 44-year-old was dressed in a maroon round-neck T-shirt and blue jeans as he was seen walking out of Chennai airport in a video shared by the Super Kings on their official channels.
Last year, Dhoni had landed in Chennai wearing a T-shirt with a cryptic message. Fans quickly deciphered the Morse code text to read “One last time”, sparking speculation about his future. Although Dhoni did not comment on the message, many fans believed the IPL 2025 season would be his final appearance. However, Dhoni went on to play all 14 matches for the Super Kings, even leading the side in the second half of the season when Ruturaj Gaikwad was unavailable due to injury.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and uncapped all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh also arrived in Chennai later in the evening.
It remains to be seen if Dhoni, at 44, will commit to playing all matches for CSK, considering the five-time champions traded wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson for the
