Govt, J&K admin & respondents inform SC: NC leader Lone raised "Pakistan Zindabad" slogans in J&K Assembly & supported secessionist forces. SG Mehta demands Lone file affidavit pledging allegiance to Indian Constitution & urges SC to act to prevent others from doing same.
The Central government, Jammu and Kashmir administration and other respondents in the Article 370 hearing on September 4 informed the Supreme Court that National Conference leader Mohammad Akbar Lone had raised slogans, including “Pakistan Zindabad”, in the J&K Assembly in 2018 and supported secessionist forces.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta demanded that Mr. Lone should file an affidavit pledging his allegiance to the Constitution of India.
He urged the top court to act, saying “if nothing is done, it might encourage others and the efforts of the nation to bring normalcy, which has been substantially successful, will be affected”.
The Solicitor General said that Mr. Lone is no ordinary person but an MP. “He would have been lead petitioner, after the withdrawal of Shah Faesal, had the court not given the generic title ‘In Re Article 370 of the Constitution’ to the case.”
