
MITE students bag award at e-Yantra Innovation Challenge at IIT-Bombay

MITE students win national award for innovative "Multi-Crops Dehusker" project at e-Yantra Innovation Challenge 2025–26.
A student team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering (MITE), Moodbidri has received national recognition at the e-Yantra Innovation Challenge 2025–26 organised by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay recently.
The team received the “Entrepreneurial Potential & Best Business Pitch Award“ for its innovative project, “Multi-Crops Dehusker”. The award includes a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, along with an exclusive 8-week pre-incubation opportunity for the team leader at e-Yantra, IIT Bombay.
The e-Yantra Innovation Challenge (eYIC), sponsored by the Union Ministry of Education, promotes hands-on, project-based learning combined with domain training, making it an ideal platform for young engineers aspiring to build startups.
It witnessed participation from 323 teams from across the country, out of which 16 were shortlisted for the grand finale at IIT Bombay. The MITE team successfully secured a place among these top finalists and showcased its project at the national level.
The project “Multi-Crops Dehusker” was developed by the team comprising B.V. Manoj Kumar, Deekshith K. Gowda, Pradhyumna Murthy and Swasthik under the mentorship of H.T. Shivaramu and K.B. Yuvaraj.
MITE chairman Rajesh Chowta congratulated the team and said, “Innovation and entrepreneurship are at the core of MITE’s vision. Achievements at prestigious platforms like e-Yantra reflect the institution’s commitment to nurturing creative thinking and problem-solving abilities among students.“
