
Belthangady techno school chairman, members get anticipatory bail in building fire security clearance certificate forgery case

Belthangady Techno School chairman and members granted anticipatory bail in a forgery case involving a fake fire safety certificate.
A court in Mangaluru has granted anticipatory bail to the chairman and members of Infinity Learning Foundation in Guruvayanakere in Belthangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada district in the case related to submitting a forged building fire security clearance certificate to the Education Department.
The second Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mangaluru, V.N. Jagadeesh, on Thursday, granted anticipatory bail to Foundation’s president B. Sumanth Kumar Jain, and members B. Sahana Jain, Satish Kumar Jain, and Shubhalatha.
The Judge said the petitioners shall be released on bail in the event of arrest in the case registered in Belthangady police station on execution of personal bond for a sum of ₹50,000 by each of the petitioners. They were directed to cooperate with the investigation officer to complete the investigation, not to tamper with prosecution witnesses, and not to be involved in any crime or commit similar crime in future. They were directed to appear before jurisdictional court regularly.
In the complaint filed at the Belthangady Police Station on March 6, Deputy Director of Public Instruction (Administration) G.S. Shashidhara said the foundation had submitted the proposal to the department’s portal on June 27, 2025, seeking permission for Excel Techno School in Guruvayanakere to run classes from pre-primary to class 10. During the scrutiny of the attached documents, it was revealed that the foundation has not obtained building fire safety clearance from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services and instead submitted a forged document granting clearance. He sought action against the foundation chairman and other members for cheating. The Belthangady police registered the complaint under Sections 318 (2), 336 (3), 337, 340 (2) r/w Section 3 (5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Allowing the anticipatory bail application by the foundation chairman and three members, the judge said that whether the petitioner Institution has forged or concocted the documents to obtain permission was a matter of investigation by the Investigating agency and the Department of Education.
