A 15-year-old girl was gang raped by her cousin and his friends. Three accused have been arrested, the police are on the lookout for the others.
Three men were arrested for sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl in Kunnathur near Villupuram, Tamil Nadu. According to the girl, a cousin and his nine friends gang raped her. The crime was brought to the attention of the police by the school authorities.
It was observed that the girl was exhausted and acted upset at school. Upon enquiry, the teen revealed that her uncle’s son, Sasi, was sexually abusing her when she was alone at her home. She also stated that the cousin's nine friends had gang raped her.
The teacher informed the school principal, who alerted District Education Officer Krishnapriya, who informed the police about the incident.
The child was taken to Mundiyambakkam Government Hospital and an enquiry was held by Villupuram All Women Police based on which the child’s relative Sasi, his friends Manikandan and Vinayakamurthi were arrested and booked under POCSO.
Cops are also on the lookout for seven other accused.
Further investigation is underway.
