Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX concept EV unveiled with a claimed range of 1,000km
India Today
The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX is likely to serve as the basis of a future high-performance electric car from Mercedes-Benz rivaling the likes of the Audi e-tron GT and Porsche Taycan.
Mercedes-Benz has been making some serious inroads with EV technology and in its newest iteration, the Vision EQXX, the German automaker showcases bleeding edge technologies that maximise range and efficiency. A real-world range of 1,000km is what this EV claims, a number achieved by extreme efficient usage of the battery and aerodynamic design. Showcased at the CES in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Vision EQXX is a technology demonstrator concept that sets down in flesh the future of electric mobility at Mercedes-Benz.
Aerodynamics is the biggest motivation behind the Vision EQXX’s design, which is quite evident with the long low-set shape of body and the angle of the sloped roofline. The front and the back both feature full-width LED light strips that also dictate the location of the air curtains and breather for the air control system. There's a deployable diffuser at the rear to improve the drag at speed, right below the retro inspired rear-fenders. Even the dimensions are set to improve the drag coefficient- rated at 0.17- the width of the front is less than the CLA, even the wheels have covers to eliminate turbulent air.
