Mercedes-AMG A 45 S review, first drive
India Today
The world-class NATRAX facility in Pithampur, Indore is currently India’s best proving ground for automotive testing, the perfect venue to take a quick spin in the new Mercedes-AMG A 45 S hot hatch.
Just a few months ago the Mercedes-AMG A 35 was launched and that’s a sedan while the A 45 S is a hatchback based within the same family of cars. The number progression in the name also signifies a very important fact. Under the hood of the A 45 S lies the most powerful 4-cylinder engine in production. It is turbocharged and has a lot of AMG trickery built in to reign in the 421 horses but more on that later. For now let’s take a closer look at the exterior nuances of this feisty looking AMG.
To transform the humble A-Class hatchback into a menacing AMG, Mercedes swathed on this bright yellow paint with an option of a few more colours and then optimised it aerodynamically with big air scoops and splitters on the front bumper, optional winglets and rear spoiler too are available on the edges of the bumper for added stability and downforce.
