
MEA assures early release of Tamil Nadu fishermen detained by Sri Lanka

The Ministry of External Affairs assured the early release of all fishermen detained by the Sri Lankan authorities.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Arindam Bagchi expressed concern over the detention of fishermen and said that efforts are ongoing to secure the early release of all fishermen.
The Sri Lankan Navy has detained 13 more Indian fishermen from Tamil Nadu and seized their boats allegedly claiming that they had crossed the maritime border.
