
Massive fire breaks out at Noida factory, several workers trapped

A fire broke out at a factory in Noida's Sector 4 due to unknown reasons, trapping workers amid heavy smoke. Rescue and firefighting operations began immediately, police said.
A major fire broke out at a factory in Noida’s Sector 4 as several workers were feared trapped on Thursday morning, prompting a large-scale rescue operation by firefighters and police. Officials said the blaze erupted at the facility of Capital Power System Limited, which manufactures electronic electricity meters, in the Noida Police’s Phase 1 police station area.
After hours of firefighting efforts, the blaze was brought under control, officials said, adding that those trapped inside were rescued and the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital. At least 26 people were injured in the incident.
According to police, the fire started due to unknown reasons at the factory located at B-40 in Sector 4. Fire department teams rushed to the spot after receiving information and began rescue and firefighting operations.
Several workers were trapped inside the building as heavy smoke filled the premises.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Rajeev Narain Mishra said the fire was reported in the morning when around 200 to 250 workers were on the night shift at the factory.
"A fire was reported today morning at a factory in Sector 4 that manufactures electronic meters. The fire was brought under control," news agency ANI quoted Mishra as saying.
